Make Light Not War
Exploring the connections between solar energy and art
Over my time as an artist and environmental advocate, I’ve seen the maturing of the environmental debate with a growing awareness that sustainability can be the key driver for innovation through emerging technology.
I’m now expanding my practice and creating solar powered sustainable sculptures that display the energy that’s available daily to power our society. This has resulted in the creation of bespoke public art pieces that draw attention to the viability of renewable energy.

A curving branch with the specific placement of solar lit bulbs that lets off a warm glow enough to light up its surrounds. The branch is 160 cm tall and the width is 40 cm. Sits on a sturdy metal base.
A combination piece, utilising a palm frond, a 1 meter strip of a solar PV cells on a base of reclaimed elm wood. The piece sits 1 meter tall and 45 cm x 30 wide at the base and with a LED light gives off a strong warm light.
Project Reclaim is another website that profiles my organic sculptures.
